Across the Pond

Friday 7:00pm On the Northrup Stage

Across The Pond was founded in 2006 by songwriter/guitarist Marc Clayton with the goal of celebrating the music and energy of the Beatles rather than focus on mimicking the look and personas of the Beatles.  Across The Pond have been regulars on the North Country festival circuit including The Castleton Vermont Summer Series, The Clark Art Institute Summer Series, Cooke Park Colonie Summer Series, the Shepard Park Lake George Summer Series and many others as well as numerous private parties and clubs.  The members include Marc Clayton on guitar and vocal, Jonathan Newell on bass, keyboard and vocal, Tim Wozniuk on drums, percussion and vocal and Joe Tucker on lead guitar and vocal.  Their song list includes the early Rock-n-Roll years through the classic psychedelic era and their late songwriting period.   A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. They became the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in the rock music era.[1] The group's best-known lineup consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Rooted in skiffle and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later utilized several genres, ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic rock, often incorporating classical and other elements in innovative ways. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as their songwriting grew in sophistication, they came to be perceived by many fans and cultural observers as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the era's sociocultural revolutions.
