2010 Directors and Officers Elected

The Altamont Fair is pleased to announce the election of the following members to its Board of Directors: Dave Ahern, Wayde Bush, Pat Canaday, Susan Osta and Willard Schultz.  Dave Ahern, Schenectady, has been active in Buildings and Grounds and capital projects.  Wayde Bush, Altamont, helped create the new Blue Ribbon Cooking Center and is looking forward to more time in the Farm Machinery Museum.  Pat Canaday, Altamont, has been involved in the financial workings of the Fair.  Susie Osta, Schenectady, has been Pony Show Superintendent and helped with parades, scarecrows, etc. Willard Schultz, Schenectady, has been a key member in planning grounds setup and execution.  The Board of Directors welcomes such diverse voices.

Dr. Stuart Lyman, Delmar, has been elected President of the Altamont Fair. Dr. Lyman is a veterinarian who spearheaded the very successful Miracle of Birth, which presented the birth of a calf daily at the Fair.  He has served as Treasurer of the Fair and has been a sheep, vegetable and farm products exhibitor for decades.

Bob Santorelli, Altamont, has been elected Vice-President of the Altamont Fair.  Bob is a local businessman who has been serving up delicious barbeque chicken at local fairs for years.  He has served as President and Vice-President of the organization and has been key to moving ahead with capital improvements.

Kathy Stanton, Coeymans Hollow, will serve as Secretary of the Altamont Fair.  Kathy has been Co-superintendent of the Cattle Barn for some time and enjoys participating in the outside events held at the fairgrounds.

Rose Norkus, Schenectady, has been named Treasurer for the coming year. Rose is well-known in Pony events at the Fair and has managed Entries.

The Altamont Fair at its annual meeting passed resolutions honoring the following members: Robert Coleman, Frederick Edmunds, Howard Hulbert, Dennis Purtell, and Doug Stanton. These members have been named Member Emeriti for their long and significant service to the Altamont Fair.  This is the first time that this title has been conferred upon members.
