The Altamont Fair is proud to announce the entertainment schedule on the new Grandstand stage for the week of the Fair, August 12-17.   As announced June 4th, the Altamont Fair is receiving a new stage courtesy of local businesses headed up by Jeff Thomas, Founder and President of Weatherguard and Peter Bette, founder of Bette & Cring Construction. Construction began last week, and will be completed in time for opening night on August 12th

On Tuesday, opening night, Lady Antebellum will storm the grandstand stage at 7:00pm. A county rock band with a unique sound, the trio has a current #3 hit on the charts – "Love Don't Live Here".  Awarded the Top New Vocal Duet/Group at the Academy of Country Music in May 2008, the Capital District is in for a treat! Don't miss it!

On Wednesday evening, Heidi Newfield, former lead singer of  Trick Pony, takes the stage with her new single "Johnny and June" a song about the legendary Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash. This one is on country music's top 30 hits. Her debut album, "What Am I Waiting For?" will be released on August 5.

Thursday evening the Fair offers Jordan Pruitt, a talented singer/songwriter, who at 16 years old is presenting her second album in July, "Permission to Fly". Her new single "One Love" debuted in June. Pruitt has opened for the Cheetah Girls and Vanessa Hudgens on tour. A Radio Disney teen sensation, her music is refreshing not only for the younger set, but enjoyed by all.

On Friday evening, Joey Page has a song that debuted at #17 on the Radio Disney charts – "Who I Am".  Page hails from Orlando , Florida , and is featured in the Radio Disney incubator as a talented song writer/vocalist/actor. He as described as the new face of pop music and the new "The Teenage Rage – Joey Page".

Saturday night brings the "Country Idol"; local contestants will compete for the title on our own Altamont Fair stage.

Sunday night is our traditional closeout of our fair week with the Demolition Derby, hosted by Stoney Roberts; with heats for our local competitors and firefighters. 

Adult admission is $12, children from 6-12 $5, children 5 or under are free. Look for our advance adult tickets in July for only $10 at Hannaford Supermarkets.
